About Coach

I was involved in sports at a very young age and it quickly became part of my identity. I tried multiple sports throughout my school years, but volleyball was my best sport. It ultimately landed me a full-ride scholarship to a Division 1 college, Louisiana Tech. After graduating college and wrapping up my volleyball career, I tried to find a new way of working out on my own. I experimented with all kinds of fitness but craved the competitiveness that I always had playing sports. That’s when I found CrossFit. It provided me with a way to stay competitive while also maintaining a healthy lifestyle. After two years of competitive CrossFit training, I was given the opportunity to get my L1 certification and start coaching. I have coached at multiple gyms since 2015. Coaching CrossFit is not my primary job, but it has been such a rewarding endeavor. I have coached some very inspirational athletes throughout the years and hope that I have been able to make a difference in the lives of my students.

Turning Point

When I finished playing volleyball, I struggled to figure out my “new normal”. As a college athlete, I never really had to watch my diet because I was burning an exceptional amount of calories. When college athletics were done and the structure of multiple workouts and practices a day was no longer part of my routine, I struggled with my weight. I knew I needed to find something to get me back on track with working out and eating. Crossfit not only fulfilled my need to compete, but it also taught me about nutrition. I initially followed the paleo diet and had amazing results. After paleo, I tried counting macros, and a few other ways of eating along the way. Crossfit was the catalyst for me to seek out an overall state of health and wellness in everyday life.

Motivation & Passion

Crossfit has brought me so much throughout the last 10 years. I have made some of my closest friends and I have created a lifestyle of health and wellness for myself. As a coach, I hope to be a friend to every athlete in my class, I hope to inspire and share with them my passion for nutrition and fitness, and I hope to be able to teach and encourage them in a way that makes them want to come back the next day. I am also furthering my education to be able to specialize in coaching pregnant and postpartum women. I recently gave birth to my first child and struggled to find good coaching feedback while I was pregnant. I hope to be able to support our community of athletes and other pregnant and postpartum women in the Corpus Christi area by providing encouragement and structured programming to help them navigate pregnant and postpartum fitness.
